January 29 @ 09:30 – 15:30

Making Hydrogen Count is a day of interactive discussion and debate designed to tackle the challenge of making hydrogen stack up economically as an investable proposition, head-on, and to build consensus on the most viable pathways to implement Scottish ambitions and goals.
This event is being delivered under the Scottish Government-funded Hydrogen Innovation Programme by the Energy Technology Partnership (ETP), the energy arm of the Scottish Partnership in Energy and Engineering Research and Innovation (SPEERI).
SPEERI will bring together the key actors in Scotland who are jointly responsible for taking forward the Scottish Hydrogen Action Plan. The day will provide a platform to explore who and what is needed to enable a sustainable hydrogen economy, because no single body can deliver Scotland’s hydrogen ambitions alone.
Panel discussion sessions will address the challenges and opportunities of commercialisation and internationalisation, investment strategies, technical feasibility, and innovation across the entire supply chain.
These interactive sessions will examine how Scotland can leverage its renewable energy advantage to attract investment, create robust markets, and prioritise the infrastructure needed to develop strategic and commercially viable projects and demonstrations, to validate business cases, and deploy scaled solutions.
This is not just about technology—it’s about creating the conditions for success.
This event is for anyone working across the hydrogen value-chain, within the whole hydrogen sector, including industry, policy-makers, academia, innovation support organisations, R&D facilities, and especially innovators. Join to uncover clearer pathways towards a hydrogen economy that works—economically, technically, and sustainably.
