DESCRIPTION:Cenex has announced that this year’s Cenex Expo\, scheduled to take place on 22–23 September 2026 at ICC Wales in Newport\, will be postponed following a strategic review conducted in consultation with industry partners and stakeholders.\n\n\n\n27th May 2026: Cenex has announced that this year’s Cenex Expo\, scheduled to take place on 22–23 September 2026 at ICC Wales in Newport\, will be postponed following a strategic review conducted in consultation with industry partners and stakeholders. \n\n\n\nFirst established in 2008 as Cenex-LCV\, Cenex Expo plays an important role in bringing together the UK and international transport innovation community\, connecting industry\, government\, academia and technology leaders working across net zero mobility and connected automated transport. \n\n\n\nOrganised by Cenex\, the independent not-for-profit Research and Technology Organisation\, the event has established itself in the calendar as the preeminent forum for networking\, dissemination and engagement aimed at supporting UK innovation\, collaboration and market development across the automotive\, transport and energy sectors. \n\n\n\nCommenting on the decision\, Robert Evans\, CEO of Cenex\, said: \n\n\n\n“This has been a difficult decision\, as we know Cenex Expo is highly valued by industry and has become an important showcase for UK capability\, innovation and collaboration across transport decarbonisation and connected automated mobility. \n\n\n\n“Having listened closely to our customers and the challenges they are currently facing\, we believe the responsible decision is to pause the event this year and ensure that the next Cenex Expo takes place at the right time\, with the strongest possible industry participation\, collaboration and impact. \n\n\n\n“The UK continues to play a leading role in the transition towards net zero mobility and connected automated transport\, and Cenex remains fully committed to supporting that innovation journey through both our technical programmes and wider industry engagement activities.” \n\n\n\nCenex says the decision creates an opportunity to evolve support for the transport innovation community\, building on the momentum of programmes such as Drive35 and CAM Pathfinder while developing future engagement activities that reflect the changing needs of industry and government. \n\n\n\nOver the coming months\, Cenex will continue working closely with industry\, government and its supporting partners to shape future engagement opportunities and determine the most appropriate timing and format for future Cenex Expo activities. \n\n\n\nAlongside the evolution of Cenex Expo\, Cenex is developing a strategic programme of smaller thematic events\, collaborative activities and sector-focused initiatives to support more targeted discussions and year-round engagement across key technology\, policy and market areas. \n\n\n\nCenex would like to thank its exhibitors\, sponsors\, partners and delegates for their continued support and commitment to advancing the UK’s net zero and connected mobility ambitions.
